This course, Health & Wellbeing in the Dental Profession, offers dental professionals a comprehensive overview of common mental health challenges that may affect themselves, their teams, and their patients. Led by a human resources professional trained in mental health awareness, the session explores topics such as burnout, depression, anxiety, trauma, eating disorders, substance use, self-injury, and suicide. Emphasis is placed on recognizing warning signs, understanding risk factors, reducing stigma, and connecting individuals with appropriate support and resources. Participants will also gain practical strategies for fostering workplace wellbeing, setting boundaries, and cultivating a culture of empathy, support, and open dialogue in dental settings.

Nikki Kurdys, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, holds a B.S. in Business Management and an M.S. in Human Resource Development. She has over a decade of experience in HR leadership, with expertise in employee engagement, organizational wellness, and leadership coaching. She is a certified Mediator, Clifton Strengths Coach, Wellness Champion, and Mental Health First Aid Instructor. Nikki leads strategic initiatives to build inclusive, resilient teams and strengthen workplace culture across North Carolina.
